About this site

Higher Penderleath Caravan and Camping Park is a 10-acre touring and camping park in the granite hills above St Ives, 2 miles from the town and its beaches. Pitches are grass, well spaced and mainly level, with views across the rugged Penwith countryside (a designated National Landscape) towards the north coast, and the park takes touring caravans, motorhomes and tents; there are no statics or pods here. The shower and toilet blocks sit inside sympathetically converted granite barns, with free hot showers, a dishwashing room and a launderette, and 2026 brings park-wide Wi-Fi, barrier entry and CCTV. Children get a play area; adults get the Engine Inn at Cripplesease, a mile away along the footpath. Porthgwidden beach in St Ives is 3 miles away, Tate St Ives and the Barbara Hepworth Museum a similar distance, and Penzance and St Michael's Mount are within a 20-minute drive. Dogs are welcome, maximum two per pitch at £4 a night each, kept on short leads. The park is open from 1 April to 30 September with a three-night minimum stay, and grass pitches start from £18 a night for two people, or £26 with a 10-amp hook-up. The lanes in are proper Cornish single-track, so take the final mile steadily.
