Why campers love it here
About this site
Higher Trevaskis Caravan and Camping Park is a family run touring park and campsite with 82 pitches at Connor Downs near Hayle, a quiet countryside spot within easy reach of the beaches along St Ives Bay. The park sits on Gwinear Road in west Cornwall: Gwithian Beach and the town of Hayle are each about 3 miles away, St Ives is about 8 miles, and Trevaskis Farm (farm shop, restaurant and pick your own) is just down the lane. Pitches take tents, caravans and motorhomes, measure at least 7 by 7 metres with 3 metre fire breaks, and come as standard grass or serviced with 10 amp electric. It suits couples and families who want peace and space rather than entertainment: there is no bar or clubhouse, school holiday stays carry 3 to 7 night minimums, and groups of more than two pitches need prior approval. The showers and toilets are the standout, cleaned daily with constant hot water, backed by a laundry, a small shop, a play area, a 2 acre sports field, a free dog wash and a wetsuit wash. Dogs are welcome on leads (maximum two per pitch in school holidays), barbecues sit on free concrete blocks from reception, and fire pits are hired on site with kiln dried logs from the shop. Higher Trevaskis is open from 19 April to 27 September 2026, with standard pitches from £20 a night.
