Hole Station Campsite

Hole Station Campsite is an adults-only woodland campsite set in 23 acres of natural deciduous woodland at Highampton, near Beaworthy in west Devon. Instead of an open field, every pitch sits in its own private clearing among the trees, so you are not tripping over next door's guy lines, and each comes with a firepit, a kitchen shelter, a bench and a private eco loo. Campfires are part of the appeal, and with no light pollution the stargazing is excellent. It is strictly 18-plus, so no children, and no dogs are allowed because of free-range chickens, goats and horses on site, which rules it out for families and dog owners. There are two ways to stay. BYO camping means bringing your own gear and choosing a clearing on arrival, charged per person so you can pitch multiple tents. Rent a Tent provides a ready-pitched two-bedroom tent with airbeds and its own equipped cooking shelter, so you just bring bedding and torches. Campervans up to 5.5 metres are also welcome. There is no electric hook-up, an on-site cafe serves breakfasts, and quiet time starts at 11pm with no radios or instruments allowed.
