About this site

Knotlow Farm is a family run caravan and campsite with glamping pods, set on a traditional working farm in the White Peak, just outside the hamlet of Flagg and roughly halfway between Bakewell and Buxton in the Derbyshire Peak District. Run by the Hollinrake family, it caters for everyone from couples to families: you can pitch a tent or bring a caravan onto spacious camping fields with electric hook ups, or trade canvas for one of the spruce built glamping pods, each with its own hot tub. It sits within a genuine Peak District farmyard, and in summer you can spot the farm's Aberdeen Angus cattle and pedigree Dorper sheep grazing in the fields around you. Facilities are simple and well kept, with hot showers, toilets, pot washing and a small shop for basic groceries, and there are a couple of touches that lift a stay: you can hire a fire basket to keep the family warm after dark and order fresh homemade Italian pizza from Angelica for an easy evening meal. Walking is the big draw at Knotlow Farm, with the Limestone Way and the dales of the White Peak on the doorstep and the villages around Flagg within a stroll. Reviewers highlight the warm welcome, the clean facilities and the peaceful setting. Check current opening dates and book through the Knotlow Farm website.

Good to know

Does Knotlow Farm have glamping?
Yes, Knotlow Farm has spruce built glamping pods, each with its own hot tub, described as posh camping for couples. They sit in the Peak District farmyard setting alongside the tent and caravan fields, so you can choose between camping and a cosier pod stay.
Can I have a campfire at Knotlow Farm?
Yes, you can hire a fire basket to keep warm after dark, so open fires are catered for in a controlled way rather than on the ground. Combined with the on site pizza service, it makes for an easy, cosy evening after a long day walking in the hills.
Can I bring a tent or caravan?
Yes, the camping fields cater for both tents and caravans, with electric hook ups available, pot washing, toilets and hot showers. The fields are spacious and part of a typical Derbyshire farmyard setting, with a family field close to the reception and facilities block.
Where is Knotlow Farm and how far are Bakewell and Buxton?
Knotlow Farm is just outside the hamlet of Flagg, in the White Peak, roughly halfway between Bakewell and Buxton. That puts the dales, villages and walking routes of the Peak District National Park within easy reach, with local pubs and tearooms around Flagg.
Is there food or a shop on site?
Yes, there is a small shop at reception selling basic groceries and sweets, and the farm runs a homemade Italian pizza service every evening, made by Angelica. It is a handy option for a simple, tasty meal without having to drive out after a day in the hills.
What animals and walks are there around Knotlow Farm?
The working farm keeps Aberdeen Angus cattle and pedigree Dorper sheep, which you can see grazing the further fields in summer. For walkers, the Limestone Way and the dales of the White Peak are close by, with lovely routes leading out from the farm itself.
