Why campers love it here
About this site
Lathkill Dale Camp Site is a quiet, family run campsite on the edge of Monyash, a White Peak village inside the Peak District National Park. You pitch in small enclosed family meadows with far reaching dale views, or on sheltered individual pitches lower down, and electric hook up is available across both. The village green sits a 5 to 10 minute walk away, with the Bull's Head pub and the Smithy cafe both handy for a meal or a hearty breakfast. The entrance to Lathkill Dale, a national nature reserve following a limestone gorge, is a 2 minute walk, and the Tissington Trail with its cycle hire is a 5 minute drive. This is a proper quiet site: there is no noise between 10pm and 8am, one vehicle is allowed per tent, and it suits walkers, couples and families rather than large party groups. Dogs are welcome at no extra cost as long as they stay on leads. You can use fire baskets and BBQs if they are raised off the grass, and the site hires baskets and sells firewood. There is no shop on site or in the village, so stock up beforehand: the nearest farm shop is 1 mile west and there is a Co-op in Bakewell, 4 miles east. You book your pitch through the campsite's own online booking system.
