Why campers love it here
About this site
Little Shelfin Farm Campsite is a quiet, family-run camping field on a working farm at Mullacott Cross, a couple of miles inland from Ilfracombe in North Devon. Everything happens in one large, gently sloping meadow, so pitches are roomy with space between them for awnings, cars and children to play, and the feel is farmland rather than a packed commercial park. It takes tents, caravans, motorhomes and small campervans, with electric hook-ups and a clean, modern shower and toilet block, but no pool, bar or evening programme, which suits campers who want somewhere simple and calm. The location earns its keep: the surf and sand at Woolacombe are roughly ten minutes by car, the Tunnels Beaches at Ilfracombe and the Combe Martin coast are close, and Exmoor gives walking a little further east. Dogs are welcome, with a small exercise run on the farm, and the wider countryside is easy for a lead-on stroll. Little Shelfin Farm Campsite runs from May to September and makes a handy, no-fuss base for a North Devon beach holiday. Booking is direct with the farm's owners.
