About this site

Pitches: 25 Opening Dates: 29/03 Onward The campsite is small, quiet and friendly, on a sheep farm, in a level field with fabulous views of unspoiled countryside in every direction. This is "CAMPING AS IT USED TO BE!", so pitches are exceptionally spacious, set around the edges of a large field with bags of room between you and any neighbours.Choose your pitch and the view you like best when you arrive. We have a BEAUTIFUL NEW YURT with its own camp kitchen and private loo, all in its own field. Please see our website for details. See also MIDWEEK SPECIAL OFFER below. There is a campfire hearth at each pitch and at the yurt. Good dry logs are for sale with free kindling. Pack your marshmallows & prepare to relax in peace and quiet! The dark night skies are wonderful for stargazing from your campfire. We have two friendly village pubs nearby, a pretty 10 minute walk down the lane or across the fields from your tent. Both pubs have riverside gardens and both serve excellent food & real ales. Wander to the village for a meal or a pint, take one of many lovely walks from the farm, or sit watching the sheep and waiting for the cows to come home up the lane before lighting your evening fire. There are varied and beautiful hill or valley walks from the campsite through lovely countryside, including direct access onto the Howgill Fells for long walks with only sheep and ponies to keep you company! If you'd like a guide, try our little booklet with maps and descriptions of "Nine Great Walks from Low Greenside Farm" (£3). Lots of other up to date visitor info is provided on walking, recommended places to eat and drink, market towns and villages to visit, visitor attractions, and local events during your stay. The Lake District and the Yorkshire Dales are handy for trips out, as is the beautiful and strangely undiscovered Eden Valley. We are happy to suggest itineraries for you to enjoy. 2020 CAMPING PRICES: £9 per person/night (£4 for children). 1 car included per pitch (extra cars £2/night) THERE ARE NO OTHER CHARGES DoE welcome 2020 YURT PRICES: For two people - Fridays, Saturdays & School Holidays £89/night Midweek, off peak special £69/night Full details about the Yurt on our website.
