Lower Penderleath Farm

Lower Penderleath Farm is a quiet countryside campsite and independent hostel at Towednack, 3 miles from St Ives in west Cornwall, taking tents and small campervans only. The farm sits in open Penwith countryside 5 miles from Penzance, with the beaches, galleries and harbour of St Ives a short drive away and the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Museum and the South West Coast Path at Zennor all easy trips. Campers get hot showers, a washing up room, a wetsuit rinsing area, a bird watching hide and mains sockets for charging phones (a small charge applies), and the spring water on site holds official natural mineral water status, so you can drink it straight from the tap. There are no electric hook-ups, no caravans and no dogs, and a two night minimum applies, so Lower Penderleath suits couples, families and coast path walkers travelling light rather than big outfits or dog owners. Fire bowls and BBQs are welcome (bring your own fuel or hire a fire bucket on site), and a communal fire bowl in the main yard gets campers together in the evening. The hostel sleeps up to 24 across four private twin rooms, a 12-mattress Alpine dormitory and a family maisonette, with dorm beds from £23 a night. The 2025 season ran from 1 May to 10 September with adult camping from £15 a night; check the operator's website for 2026 dates.
