About this site

Marshford Camping is a small members-only certificated site licensed by the Camping and Caravanning Club, set on a working nursery on the edge of Northam near Bideford in North Devon. The site sits in a sheltered spot less than a mile from the sea, close to the twin estuary of the Taw and Torridge rivers. It takes up to five caravans, motorhomes or campervans plus around ten tents, with electric hook-ups (book ahead), a chemical disposal point, one hardstanding and a toilet and shower block. Because it is a certificated location you need Camping and Caravanning Club membership to stay, though you can usually join on arrival, so it does not suit anyone wanting a large touring park with bars or pools. Families and dogs are welcome, with dogs kept on a lead of up to three metres. An on-site shop sells home-grown vegetables, bread, eggs and local produce, and Appledore is a fifteen to twenty minute walk for a quiet evening out. Westward Ho! and its long sandy beach, plus Bideford, are a short drive away. Marshford Camping opens roughly Easter to October, and a minimum three-night stay usually applies at peak times. Book direct through the site's own website.
