About this site

Martleaves Farm Campsite, which trades online as Weymouth Camping and Caravan Park, is an adults-only site on a working farm at Wyke Regis between Weymouth and Portland, set beside Chesil Beach on the Jurassic Coast. The 34 acre farm is a Site of Special Scientific Interest overlooking the coast, with the Fleet Lagoon just 300 metres away and the South West Coast Path running alongside. Pitches cover grass and hard standing for tents, trailer tents, caravans and camper vans, with electric hook-up available. Everyone on site must be over 18, so this is a quiet, grown-ups' campsite rather than a family park, though it stays sociable in summer. It is a genuine working farm, home to alpacas, Shetland ponies, pygmy goats, miniature donkeys, poultry and sheep, so expect the odd early-morning horse walk and some farmyard noise. Dogs are welcome on a lead (a small nightly charge applies) and there is a footpath down to the shore where they can run off-lead. What stands out is the coastal outlook, the farm animals and being able to paddleboard or kayak your own kit on the Fleet nearby. Martleaves Farm is open 365 days a year, with portable fire pits for hire, and tent pitches start from £18 a night for one camper without electric.

Good to know

Is Martleaves Farm Campsite adults only?
Yes, it is an adults-only campsite where everyone on site must be over 18, so there are no facilities for children. Guests choose it for the quiet, and reviewers regularly mention the calm, grown-ups atmosphere as a big draw compared with a busy family holiday park.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome for a small nightly charge (£2 a night). They should be kept on a lead around the working farm because of the animals, but there is a footpath leading down to the sea, about 300 metres away, where dogs can be let off the lead.
Can I have a campfire?
Yes, portable fire pits are available to hire for £5 a night, and firewood is sold at the farmhouse door for £6 a bag. Disposable barbecues, or anything that would scorch the grass, are not permitted, so use the hired fire pits rather than an open ground fire.
Is the campsite open all year?
Yes, Martleaves Farm is open 365 days a year, with both grass and hard standing pitches. Arrival is from 12 noon and departure by 11am. As a working farm on the coast, it makes an all-season base near Weymouth, Portland and Chesil Beach.
How much does it cost to camp?
Tent pitches start from £18 a night for one camper without electric, rising with pitch size and extra campers. Caravans, trailer tents and camper vans are £35 a night, or £39 with electric hook-up, and tents with electric are £40 a night for two campers.
How close is the beach and sea?
The site sits beside Chesil Beach with coastal views, and the Fleet Lagoon is just 300 metres away via a footpath. Campers can paddleboard or kayak on the Fleet using their own equipment, and Weymouth and Portland are both a short drive away.
