Why campers love it here
About this site
Middlehills Farm Campsite is a small, family run campsite spread across 40 acres of working farmland at Grangemill, in the Peak District National Park between Matlock and Bakewell. Run by the Lomas family for over 30 years, it is a relaxed, family friendly spot with wide views across the White Peak and animals to meet, including pigs, ponies and chickens. You can pitch a tent or bring a tourer, with electric hook ups available, and there is a caravan and an eco pod to hire if you would rather not camp. Fires are allowed only in a raised firepit, which you can bring yourself or hire from the small on site shop, and that shop stocks basics alongside fresh produce from a Bakewell farm shop. There is a good play area for children of all ages. Middlehills suits families and couples: young unaccompanied groups are not accepted, though family groups are welcome, and well behaved dogs are fine on a lead. The High Peak Trail, with bike hire, is about 2 miles away, and Matlock, Ashbourne and Buxton are all within easy reach. Please note the campsite is not taking bookings for the 2026 season, so check directly with the site before planning a stay.
