Why campers love it here
About this site
Mill House Camping is an adults-only, five-pitch site in a quiet corner of an active smallholding at Earl Soham, ten minutes' drive from the market town of Framlingham in mid Suffolk, and the appeal is deliberate simplicity. Each pitch takes one tent and up to four adults, there is a fire bowl at every pitch, and a bell tent is there if you want the bed made up for you. You will not find electricity, wifi, a fridge, gas or pans here: bring your own stove and a torch, because the site does not pretend otherwise. Jackie and Giles have worked the land for sixteen years, Jackie's flower farm sits in the middle of the campsite, and there are goats and two sheepdogs about the place. Nobody under 18 stays and no pets come at all beyond assistance dogs, which rules out plenty of people but is exactly why the site stays calm. Bookings are capped at two pitches, so the largest group is eight, and you can ask about taking the whole site. Aldeburgh and the Suffolk coast are an easy drive, and there is a Coop in Framlingham and a butcher in the village. Mill House Camping runs April to October, with pitches from £15 a night for two people and the bell tent from £35.
