Why campers love it here
About this site
Mount Pleasant Camping and Glamping is a small campsite and glamping site on a working farm at Stanton, near Ashbourne, on the edge of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. It is a compact, friendly setup with around 15 camping pitches, some with electric hook up for tents, caravans and motorhomes, plus 5 glamping huts that sleep two to four people. The huts are the cosy option, kitted out with heating, restored lantern lighting, proper bedding and an all weather outside stove so you can cook and keep warm whatever the sky is doing. Views stretch across the surrounding countryside, and you are only 7 miles from Alton Towers, with historic market towns a short drive away. The real character here comes from the farm itself: donkeys, a horse, pot belly pigs, hens and sheep wander the grounds, and Whizz's private museum of restored vintage farm machinery is a genuine one off that he is happy to show you round. One important note: because this is a busy working farm with tractors and livestock moving about, dogs cannot be accepted, so this trip is one to leave the dog at home for. The site is open all year, and you book by contacting Mount Pleasant directly.
