Nance Lakes Camping And Fishing

Nance Lakes Camping and Fishing is a small, family-run campsite and coarse fishery at Trevarrack near Lelant, 3 miles from St Ives in west Cornwall, with three stocked lakes sitting right beside the pitches. The site lies just below Trencrom Hill, a National Trust hill fort with panoramic views, under a mile away, while the sandy beach at Carbis Bay is about 2 miles off and Penzance is 7 miles south. Caravans, motorhomes and tents are all welcome, with hardstanding pitches, electric hook-ups and a large wet room with showers, and the quiet lakeside setup suits anglers, couples and low-key family trips rather than anyone wanting a pool, club or evening entertainment. The fishing is the draw: the three lakes hold carp, tench, bream and crucian carp, day tickets cost £6 for one rod or £8 for two (£3 for under 12s, barbless hooks only, all fish returned), and the Moomaid by the Lakes cafe on site serves food and Cornish ice cream daily. Dogs are welcome too. Nance Lakes is open all year round with pitches from £20 a night for two people (£25 in July and August) and hook-up at £5, a proper year-round base for St Ives and the far west of Cornwall.
