Old Hall Caravan Park

Old Hall Caravan Park is a touring and holiday home park set in 70 acres of private woodland at Capernwray, near Carnforth, and was named the AA's Campsite of the Year for North West England 2025/26. Capernwray is a quiet hamlet roughly two miles from Carnforth, where you will find Booths, Tesco, Co-op and Aldi, with the M6 a couple of miles away, Lancaster about seven miles south and Kirkby Lonsdale about seven miles north east, so the southern Lakes and the Yorkshire Dales are both an easy morning's drive. Touring pitches are hardstanding with 16 amp electric hook up and a TV connection, and the centrally heated block has free showers and hairdryers, a disabled and family room, dishwashing and chemical disposal. Old Hall takes caravans and motorhomes only, with no tents at all, and touring caravans must be under 15 years old when they first come onto the park, so older vans and tent campers need another site near Carnforth. The 70 acres are the real draw: there are designated woodland walks where dogs can come off the lead, along with a fenced children's play area and a security barrier at the entrance. Barbecues are fine, but open fires and fire pits are banned anywhere on the park. Short stay touring runs from 1 March to 1 December at £40 a night including electric.
