About this site

Old York Forest is a small, family-run caravan and camping park on the edge of Allerthorpe Woods at Barmby Moor, roughly a 20-minute drive east of York in East Yorkshire. The site sits beside 367 acres of Forestry England woodland, with the Yorkshire Wildlife Trust's Allerthorpe Common nature reserve a short walk away, so it suits couples, families and solo campers who want quiet, nature and space rather than on-site entertainment. Around five level pitches take caravans, motorhomes and tents on grass or hardstanding, each with a 16amp electric hook-up, and there is a toilet and shower block. Three lakes give the place its character: two are for gentle walks and one holds a few fish for a spot of angling, and a circular dog walking area keeps four-legged guests happy. York's Minster and museums are about 7 miles away, the market town of Pocklington around 6 miles, and Allerthorpe Lakeland Park's watersports are close by. Despite the older 'Certificated Site' name, this is an independent park open to everyone, not a members-only club site. Old York Forest is open all year, with pitches from £18 a night without electric and £22 with electric for up to four people, and dogs at £3 a night. Book your pitch directly through this East Yorkshire site.
