About this site

Pennance Mill Farm Chalet and Camping Park is a family-run farm campsite and touring park at Maenporth, just under 2 miles from Falmouth in west Cornwall, with its own private woodland footpath to the beach. The farm has taken campers since 1929 and sits within Cornwall's Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty: Maenporth's sandy cove is half a mile down the private path, Swanpool Beach is a coastal walk away, and the 64A bus into Falmouth stops opposite the pitch and putt course near the entrance. Pitches spread across three sheltered, south facing meadows and run from non electric grass to fully serviced hardstandings with electric hook-ups, backed by showers, toilets, a washing up area and chemical disposal, so tents, caravans and motorhomes are all sorted. The facilities are simple and older in places, so campers after a polished holiday park with entertainment should look elsewhere. Beyond the pitches, Pennance Mill Farm offers three self catering chalets (the Lodge, Pendennis and Durgan), Betty's Shepherds Hut sleeping 2, and a pitch and putt with crazy golf a short stroll away, while Pendennis Castle, Trebah Garden and Glendurgan Garden make easy days out from Falmouth. The chalets open all year, and camping prices are quoted through the farm's online booking system at pennancemillfarm.co.uk.

Good to know

Are dogs allowed at Pennance Mill Farm?
Yes, dogs are welcome at Pennance Mill Farm and the site is listed as dog friendly. The private woodland footpath to Maenporth Beach makes an easy walk from your pitch, though seasonal restrictions apply on some Falmouth beaches in summer, so check before letting your dog off the lead.
Do the pitches have electric hook-ups?
Yes, electric hook-ups are available. The site offers electric and non electric grass pitches plus fully serviced hardstanding pitches, spread across three sheltered, south facing meadows, so tents, caravans and motorhomes can all find a spot that suits, with showers, toilets and a washing up area on site.
How far is the beach from Pennance Mill Farm?
Maenporth Beach is half a mile away, reached by the site's own private woodland footpath. It is a sheltered, sandy cove well suited to paddling and picnics, and a scenic footpath also leads to Swanpool Beach and then on along the coast into Falmouth itself.
How much does camping cost at Pennance Mill Farm?
Pennance Mill Farm does not publish a price list; camping and touring prices are quoted through its online booking system (Anytime Booking) on the farm's website. Pick a pitch type from the availability calendar to see dates and rates, or call the farm on 01326 317431.
Is there glamping or self catering accommodation?
Yes, alongside the camping meadows there is Betty's Shepherds Hut, a glamping hut for 2 with a double bed, compact kitchen and decking area, plus three self catering chalets called the Lodge, Pendennis and Durgan. The chalets are open all year round, unlike the touring pitches.
Is Pennance Mill Farm good for families?
Yes, the site suits families well. Maenporth's safe, sandy cove is half a mile away for paddling and picnicking, a pitch and putt course with crazy golf is a short stroll from the site, and the 64A bus runs into Falmouth for Pendennis Castle and the National Maritime Museum Cornwall.
