Why campers love it here
About this site
Perran Sands Holiday Park is a large Haven holiday park and touring site spread across 550 acres of dunes above Perran Sands beach at Perranporth, on Cornwall's north coast. A steep footpath drops from the park straight onto the sand, where the beach runs south to Perranporth village (about 2 miles, walkable across the beach at low tide), and St Piran's Oratory, a medieval church half buried in the Penhale dunes, sits within walking distance; Newquay is roughly 9 miles up the coast. Touring pitches for caravans, motorhomes and campervans run from standard grass to super electric hardstandings with water and waste, served by heated shower blocks, but Haven takes no tents here, so anyone under canvas should look elsewhere (glampers are sorted, with yurts, geo domes and safari tents on site). Perran Sands is a full-throttle family park rather than a quiet Cornwall hideaway: an indoor pool with flume, outdoor pool, lazy river, surf school, adventure golf and evening shows fill the day, and Slim Chickens, Cook's Fish and Chips and the Coast Sports Bar handle the eating. Dogs share your pitch for £1 a night, two per pitch maximum, and charcoal barbecues are fine if raised in a fireproof container. The park opens for a spring to autumn season, with touring pitches from £12 a night booked through Haven.
