Why campers love it here
About this site
Retanna Holiday Park is a small rural holiday park at Edgcumbe, a hamlet on the A394 midway between Falmouth and Helston in west Cornwall, and right now it is a park in transition rather than a conventional touring stop. The park sits in quiet farmland in the parish of Wendron, about 5 miles from Helston and 7 miles from Falmouth, with the Cornish Seal Sanctuary at Gweek 4 miles south on the Helford River; Maenporth beach and the subtropical gardens at Trebah and Glendurgan are roughly 6 miles by road. Retanna traded for years as a family touring and camping park, but its own website is now offline (the domain is parked and up for sale), the original operating company was dissolved in June 2025, and current listings centre on caravan holiday homes and residential park homes under the name Retanna Country Park rather than tent and touring pitches. It does not suit anyone planning to arrive with a tent, caravan or motorhome unannounced: phone before travelling, because the touring offer is no longer advertised. What still stands out is the spot itself, a genuinely peaceful corner of Cornwall within a 20-minute drive of both Falmouth Bay and the Lizard peninsula. There is no park website, so availability and prices for the holiday caravans are only confirmed direct with the park or through third-party booking platforms.
