Good site for young children
Plenty of things for children to do. Some hard standing pitches can be tight fit with an awning. Toilet/ shower facilities ok. Indoor swimming pool good. Small shop on site
Families are the heart of the crowd at Sand le Mere, a holiday village near Tunstall on the Holderness coast of East Yorkshire, where you can bring a tourer or motorhome or book one of the camping pods. The park sits off Southfield Lane at Tunstall, about a 10 minute walk from Tunstall Beach and roughly 3 miles from Withernsea. Touring pitches come as grass or hardstanding, some fully serviced with their own shower and toilet, all with electric hook-ups, so it suits caravanners and motorhomers who still want a full leisure complex on the doorstep. Dogs are welcome, up to two per pitch, and there is a well-stocked fishing lake for quieter afternoons. The modern leisure complex is the big draw, with an indoor pool and splash zone, soft play, an arcade, a cafe, restaurant and bar, and some of the busiest evening entertainment on this stretch of coast. Beyond the park, the beach is good for walks, fossil hunting and sea fishing, and Withernsea and Hornsea are both an easy drive. Sand le Mere runs its touring season from late March to early November, and pitch prices are quoted through the park's own booking system.
