Sandy Acres Campsite

Sandy Acres is a small beachside campsite and glamping site in the dunes at Upton Towans near Hayle in west Cornwall, with its own surf school and a track running straight down to the sands of St Ives Bay. The beach sits a few minutes' walk below the pitches, Hayle is 1 mile away, and the surf beaches at Gwithian and Godrevy are a short drive along the coast, with St Ives across the bay for galleries and boutique shops. There are 31 grass pitches for tents and campervans (standard, beach track and roomier super pitches), none with electric hook-up, so it suits campers who like things simple rather than caravanners or big motorhomes, which the site does not take. Beyond the basics there are two- and four-person beach pods with proper mattresses and bedding, a beach cafe open daily from 10am to 4pm, and surf lessons and yoga run on site by qualified instructors. Dogs are welcome (maximum two per pitch) and the beach below the site is dog friendly; open fires are banned on this sensitive stretch of Cornwall dune, but raised barbecues are fine. Sandy Acres opens from May to October, with camping pitches from £28 a night on the published 2025 tariff and bookings taken by email.
