Sea View Camping at Dropped Anchor is an off grid, tents only campsite at Rinsey near Breage in west Cornwall, with 20 pitches looking across Mounts Bay to Penzance, Newlyn and Mousehole. The 1.5 acre field sits down a no through lane close to the hamlet of Rinsey, 2 miles from Porthleven's harbour and restaurants and 1 mile from the Lion and Lamb pub at Ashton; Rinsey Cove, the nearest beach, is a 30 minute walk, and the mile of sand at lifeguarded Praa Sands is a 5 minute drive. There are 15 large pitches for up to 2 people and a vehicle, plus 5 smaller pitches for South West Coast Path walkers and West Kernow Way cyclists, every one with its own free fire pit, picnic bench and sea view. There is no electricity on site (lighting is solar and owner Debbie charges phones for 50p), so Dropped Anchor suits stargazers, walkers and couples rather than anyone wanting hook ups, loud evenings or a playground. Facilities are small but spotless: 2 hot shower rooms, flushing toilets in a shepherd's hut, a covered washing up area with hot water, and a horse box honesty shop selling logs, kindling and marshmallows. Dogs stay free, with a donation to the Last Chance Hotel animal charity invited. The 2026 season in this corner of Cornwall runs from 1 April to 28 September, with pitches from £19 a night.
