Why campers love it here
About this site
Secret Spot Camping is a small, family-run site on open north Devon farmland near Saunton, run from the owners' own home with deliberately no signs to catch passing trade. It sits on Saunton Road near Croyde and Braunton, a fifteen-minute walk from the pubs and shops of Braunton village and about a five-minute drive from Saunton Sands and Croyde's surf beaches. There are just twenty-three unmarked grass pitches, suitable for tents and small campervans only, so there is no room for caravans or large motorhomes, and there is no electric hook-up. The heart of the site is the campers' shelter, with a kitchen that has a fridge, freezer, microwave, kettle and toaster, comfy sofas, sockets for charging and WiFi, plus a communal firepit area for evenings around the flames. Please note dogs are not allowed, which keeps the site calm but rules it out for dog owners. This suits surfers, couples and families who want a sociable, low-key basecamp within striking distance of the beaches rather than a facility-heavy holiday park. Come self-sufficient, keep barbecues on the bricks provided, and settle in: Secret Spot Camping trades on quiet, not on frills, near Braunton.
