Why campers love it here
About this site
Ship & Anchor Marina Camping Site is a large, riverside touring and camping site attached to a working pub and marina at Ford, near Arundel in West Sussex. The 12 acre grass site sits beside the River Arun, a short stroll from Ford railway station, which is one stop and six minutes from Arundel by train, with summer riverside walks reaching both Arundel and Littlehampton. Around 120 pitches take tents, caravans, motorhomes and small campervans, with electric hook-up and hardstanding available, so this suits families and groups after a proper riverside base with a pub, shop and marina on the doorstep rather than campers chasing peace and quiet, since it is a busy, sociable site through the main season. The Ship & Anchor itself dates from 1664 and is one of the oldest pubs in West Sussex, serving real ales and home-cooked food, including breakfast, every day, and a shop on site covers groceries, gas and camping essentials. Dogs are welcome on leads. What stands out is a combination rarely found together: a historic riverside free house, a working marina and 120 touring pitches on one site. The season runs 1 March to 31 October, with a non-refundable deposit required.
