Shottisham Campsite

Shottisham Campsite is a 50-pitch grass site wrapped around a working smallholding at the edge of Shottisham village, four and a half miles south-east of Woodbridge, and the smallholding is the headline draw. Pitches sit across five small fields broken up by mature native trees, level and free-draining, with electric hook-up on some. You are inside the Suffolk Coast and Heaths National Landscape here, roughly three miles from the coast at Shingle Street, with Rendlesham Forest and miles of heathland straight off the site for dog walking. The community-owned Sorrel Horse pub and a children's playground are a short walk away in the village. Tents, caravans, campervans and motorhomes are all taken and dogs are welcome on a secure lead, but this is not your site if you need an EV charger or reliable internet: the supply runs at 10 amps, car charging is not allowed, and the owner is refreshingly blunt about the wifi being ordinary. Saturday animal feeding at 5.30pm puts you up close to pigs, alpacas, goats and chickens, and the Blue Rabbit Cafe serves home-grown breakfasts at weekends. Campfires are fine in raised fire pits, which you can hire on site. Shottisham Campsite runs from 1 April to the end of October and books by email with full prepayment; two people with a car and a tent costs £30 a night.
