It is within easy reach of York, the coast and many other attractions. It is also a great base for walkers. The attractive market town of Helmsley is nearby. Helmsley Walled Garden, which dates back to 1758, is currently being restored to its former glory. Castle Howard is a magnificent 18th century house with impressive gardens and an award-winning farm shop. Duncombe Park is home to Lord and Lady Feversham. Visit the house and explore its 450 acres of parkland. The ruins of Rievaulx Abbey are very peaceful and worth a visit. Nunnington Hall - a 17th century manor house - is on the banks of the River Rye. It is home to the Carlisle collection of miniature houses. There are two lavender farms in the area. Wolds Way Lavender has 12 acres of plants and wildlife. Yorkshire Lavender includes the largest specialist Herb Nursery in Yorkshire. For more information please visit our website .
