Why campers love it here
About this site
On a quiet 10 acre plot a mile from Riccall village, South Newlands Farm Certificated Site is a five van Camping and Caravanning Club Certified Location for adult club members, 10 miles south of York. The site sits on Selby Road between York and Selby (3 miles), with the traffic free York to Selby cycle path close by and Skipwith Common nature reserve just over a mile away for walkers and birdwatchers. Caravans, motorhomes and campervans get a choice of hard standing or grass pitches, all with electric hook up, and tent campers are taken too; the trade offs are clear, as only five vans fit, children are not accepted and you must be a Camping and Caravanning Club member to stay. Facilities run to a shower and toilet (two units, with a small key charge), battery charging and ice pack freezing, while the same family runs three accessible self catering cottages on the farm. Well behaved dogs are welcome, Riccall's two pubs and shops are a mile's stroll or the 415 bus runs into York and Selby, and pitches at South Newlands Farm cost from £24 a night for a caravan with hook up or £18 a night for camping.
