Why campers love it here
About this site
Squires Caravan Park and Campsite is a lively touring and tent site set in the yard of the well known Squires Cafe Bar at Newthorpe, near Sherburn-in-Elmet in West Yorkshire. The site sits just off the A1(M), which makes it an easy overnight stop for anyone heading north or south, and Leeds is around 12 miles to the west. There are 32 caravan and motorhome pitches with 16 amp electric hook up (token operated, tokens from the cafe) plus separate tent pitches without hook up, though sockets in the cafe are there for charging phones. A token operated toilet and shower block with disabled access sits on site. What sets Squires apart is the cafe itself: a busy bikers' and drivers' cafe serving food and drink seven days a week, with a licensed bar and an events room, so this is a sociable stop rather than a quiet rural retreat. Dogs are welcome and families are fine here, but light sleepers who want silence should look elsewhere. The site is open all year. Tent pitches start from £17 a night for arrivals by car, and caravan and motorhome pitches are booked through the operator's online system.
