Why campers love it here
About this site
St Ives Bay Beach Resort, formerly St Ives Bay Holiday Park, is a 120-acre Away Resorts park set in the sand dunes at Upton Towans, Hayle, with direct access to 3 miles of sandy beach on St Ives Bay. Camping here means pitching among the towans: over 100 grass touring and camping pitches, standard or electric, each 5m by 8m and sleeping up to six people, alongside static caravans, lodges and chalets, some with hot tubs. The path through the dunes to the beach is the park's trump card, though it's soft sand, so not one for buggies or wheelchairs. Facilities are full-on beach resort: a seasonal indoor pool with a children's paddle pool, the Dynamite Bar with nightly entertainment in season, the Sands Bistro with sea views, an on-site surf school, a shop, arcade, crazy golf and an adventure playground. Since Away Resorts took over in 2021 the park has become pet friendly, with up to two dogs per booking, welcome in the bistro but not the bar (a change from the old no-dogs policy, so ignore any older advice). Touring and camping run from late March to 1 November, with prices quoted live through the Away Resorts booking system. Come for a lively seaside week rather than a quiet pitch, with the beach doing the heavy lifting and St Ives glittering across the bay.
