Stone Creek House Certificated Site

Stone Creek House Certificated Site is a remote riverside campsite on the north bank of the Humber, at Stone Creek near Thorngumbald in East Yorkshire. The pitches sit just 25 yards from the water, roughly six miles from the nearest village and about ten miles from Hull, so this is a spot for campers who actively want quiet and open space. Tents, caravans and motorhomes are all welcome, along with children and dogs, and the estuary footpath lets you walk for miles with the dog off the lead. Facilities are deliberately simple: a chemical disposal point, drinking water and free wifi, with electric hook-ups available, but no toilet or shower block, so it best suits self-contained units. The big draw is the setting, with wide views over the Humber, huge open skies after dark and some of the area's best birdwatching along the shoreline. Anglers fish the Humber itself or the platforms on nearby Keyingham Drain, and the riverbank path runs east toward Spurn Point and west toward Hull. Attractions such as The Deep aquarium, Fort Paull, Burton Constable Hall and Beverley Racecourse are all within a reasonable drive. Stone Creek stays open all year, and campfires are permitted, so it works as a peaceful dark-sky base in any season.
