Why campers love it here
About this site
Summer Valley Touring Park is a quiet, family-run camping and touring park at Shortlanesend, 2 miles from Truro, and the closest touring park to the city. It sits under 5 minutes off the A30 at Allet, with Perranporth's 3 miles of surf beach and the coves at St Agnes each 5.5 miles away, Falmouth 12 miles south and the Eden Project 20 miles east. Its 43 south-facing grass pitches run from standard 8m x 9m spots to super large 15m x 15m pitches, with electric hook-ups throughout and hardstanding upgrades for £5; the ground slopes in places and there is no bar or clubhouse, so anyone wanting billiard-table pitches or evening entertainment is better served elsewhere. Summer Valley also offers glamping pods and hobbit houses, the houses sleeping four from £75 a night (bring your own bedding). Beyond the heated shower blocks there is a campers kitchen with a chest freezer, a laundry, a playpark, free park-wide wifi and Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm 5 minutes up the road; the park holds 4 AA Gold Pennants and is a past AA Most Improved Campsite of the Year. Dogs stay for £2.50 a night, two per pitch maximum, on short leads. Open 16 March to 30 September 2026, with pitches from £23.50 a night booked direct with the park near Truro.
