About this site

Oakfields Camping at The Bat and Ball is a pub garden campsite spread over six acres at Newpound Common, in the grounds of the Bat and Ball country pub between Billingshurst and Wisborough Green in West Sussex. You pitch on open grass with the pub's bar and kitchen a short walk from your tent, caravan or motorhome, and a campsite manager on hand around the clock. Wisborough Green and Billingshurst are both under two miles off, and Billingshurst's mainline station makes this an easy spot to reach without a car. Dogs come along on a lead at no extra cost, and Oakfields takes both family and adult campers, though electric and water points are shared rather than fitted to each pitch, so bring a long lead. Four shepherd huts offer a step up in comfort, but these are adults only with no pets inside. It suits campers happy to trade a full facilities checklist for a proper pub on the doorstep, and it is not the spot for late arrivals, since check-in stops at 9.15pm. Grass pitches run all year, though pitch numbers shrink in the colder months and tent bookings stop from late September. Prices are quoted through the site's own booking system.
