Why campers love it here
About this site
The Bluebell Inn is an award-winning country pub with two small, members-based camping options attached, out in the flat Fenland countryside at Whaplode St. Catherine near Spalding. Being a pub first, the appeal is plain: you pitch up, then walk a few steps to the restaurant and the on-site Bluebell Brewery for ales brewed on the premises. Camping here comes in two forms. The Bluebell Field is a Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location with five fully serviced hardstanding pitches, each with a 16-amp hook-up, tap, TV aerial socket and free Wi-Fi, open to Club members only at £22 a night. The second option is a motorhome-only Nightstop in the pub car park, affiliated with the Motor Caravanners' Club, taking up to five vans at £6 a night, with a couple of 10-amp hook-ups at £4 each. This is not a tent site and not one for families chasing a playground: it suits self-contained caravanners and motorhomers who want a quiet, well-kept overnight stop with a proper pint at the end of it. Toilet and shower facilities are inside the pub, and there is a chemical disposal point, water and a motorhome service area on site. Both sites at The Bluebell Inn stay open all year, and you book pitches direct by phone. Spalding and Holbeach are each a short drive away in this quiet corner of Lincolnshire.
