Why campers love it here
About this site
Set well apart from the lodges, the touring area at The Glade Park is a landscaped caravan and motorhome site at Capernwray, a few miles from Carnforth in north Lancashire, run by the McCarthy family. The park sits off Borrans Lane in quiet countryside between the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales, with junction 35 of the M6 giving you quick access via the A601(M), the B6254 and the lane through Over Kellet past the Redwell Inn. Touring pitches are sited to blend into their own landscaped setting, separate from the luxury holiday lodges, with electric hook ups throughout, a centrally heated toilet block with hot and cold water to showers and washbasins, shaver points and a chemical toilet disposal point. There is a children's play area on the park. Tents are not accepted, so this is caravans and motorhomes only, and anyone after a canvas pitch near Carnforth will need to look elsewhere. The Glade Park is graded four ticks under the British Graded Holiday Park Scheme, is North West Tourist Board approved and Caravan Club listed, and it is popular enough for season bookings that spare touring pitches go early. Prices are not published online, so ring McCarthy Parks on 01524 735857 to check rates and availability before you set off.
