Why campers love it here
About this site
Tolcarne Campsite is a small, family run touring site in the hamlet of St Allen, about 4 miles north of Truro in Cornwall, known for generous pitches and a genuinely quiet atmosphere. The site sits in farmland close to the A30 at Zelah, which puts most of Cornwall within easy reach: Truro's cathedral, shops and restaurants are about a 10 minute drive south, Healeys Cornish Cyder Farm at Penhallow is about 4 miles away, and the long sandy beach at Perranporth is roughly 6 miles by road. Pitches take tents, touring caravans and motorhomes, with 10 caravan sized pitches, each offering room for an awning and a vehicle, and electric hook ups for £5 a night. It suits couples, families and dog owners after a low key base, not anyone wanting a pool, club or evening entertainment, and the final approach lanes are narrow, so larger outfits should take the run in slowly. The facilities are the standout for a site this size: well finished male, female and accessible shower rooms plus a utility room with washing up sinks, fridge, washing machine, microwave, kettle and iron. Dogs stay free with an adjoining exercise field, and secure caravan storage costs £300 a year. Tolcarne Campsite is open all year, with pitches from £10 a night covering one adult, one vehicle and one unit.
