About this site

Trethiggey Holiday Park is a family run touring park and campsite at Quintrell Downs on the edge of Newquay in Cornwall, with over 170 grass and hardstanding pitches set across landscaped parkland and fenced meadowland. Newquay's surfing beaches (Fistral, Crantock, Towan and Great Western) are a 7 to 10 minute drive away, the A30 is minutes from the gate, and three pubs, including the Quintrell Inn at 400 yards, plus a Spar shop are within walking distance, with bus stops right outside the park. More than 100 pitches carry 16 amp electric hook-ups, and static caravans to rent, seasonal pitches and caravan storage round out the offer. Trethiggey takes families and couples only: stag and hen groups are refused, quiet time starts at 10.30pm and last check in is a strict 6pm, so it suits campers wanting a calm base rather than a party park. Surfers get wetsuit wash facilities and free hot showers, and the dog walking field sits beside three small lakes where rabbits, pheasants and the odd deer turn up (no fishing, the fish are left in peace). Dogs stay for £4 to £4.50 a night, maximum two per pitch and on leads at all times. Open fires are banned, though BBQs raised off the grass are fine. The 2026 touring season opens on 1 April, with grass pitches from £4.50 a night plus £8 to £12 per adult.

Do the pitches at Trethiggey have electric hook-up?
Yes, more than 100 of the 170 plus pitches have 16 amp electric hook-ups. In 2026 a grass pitch with electric costs £8 a night and hardstanding or XL grass pitches cost £9.50, on top of per person charges, with one hook-up allowed per pitch.

No, Trethiggey accepts family and couple bookings only, and stag or hen parties are refused. Online group bookings are cancelled without refund, though the park asks organised groups such as rallies and scouts to contact reception directly, as these can be arranged separately.
