Why campers love it here
About this site
Walnut Farm is a small luxury glamping site set in ancient Devonshire woodland at Halwill Junction, near Beaworthy in North Devon, with long views over rolling hills towards Dartmoor and Exmoor and protected dark skies overhead. Rather than a touring park, the site is built around three spacious six metre geodomes, each in its own private acre. Every dome comes with a wood fired hot tub, a hot shower and a proper flushing toilet, a four poster bed and two chair beds, a wood burning stove, a kitchenette, a sofa and games, sleeping up to four, with the option to add a pup tent in front for larger families. This is glamping rather than pitch your own tent camping, so it suits couples and families who want comfort and privacy rather than campers looking for a caravan pitch or an electric hook-up field. Dogs are welcome. The setting is the headline draw, quiet forest with big skies and easy reach of the moors, with Dartmoor National Park about twenty minutes away and Okehampton around fifteen minutes. A country pub sits just over five minutes' walk from the site, fishing lakes are five minutes' drive and there is an archery centre ten minutes away. For a cosy, well equipped glamping base between Dartmoor and the North Devon countryside, Walnut Farm is a comfortable choice, booked direct through the farm.
