Westacott Farm Camping is a family-run site on a working beef and sheep farm on the North Devon coast, one mile from Abbotsham and three miles from Bideford. The Trewin family have farmed the 110 acres for close to a century, and the site sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with wide views over the water to Lundy Island, Saunton Sands and inland towards Exmoor. Camping is spread across three fields: Bay View has nine electric pitches including hardstandings, Lundy View has nineteen electric pitches and a children's play area, and Middle Meadow is a non-electric field where you pick your own spot. Campfires can be hired for the evening, wood supplied, which is a real draw here. Dogs are welcome but must stay on a lead, as animals roam the working farm. A farmhouse shop sells local sausages, bacon, burgers and free-range eggs. This suits campers who want sea views, sunsets over Lundy and farm surroundings rather than a park with pools or entertainment. The South West Coast Path, surfing beaches and golf are all close by around Abbotsham and Bideford. Westacott Farm Camping opens from March to December, so it is not a year-round site, and check-in is from 2.30pm. Book ahead for the electric pitches, which are popular in summer.

Can you have campfires at Westacott Farm?
Yes, campfires are a popular feature and can be hired, with wood supplied ready to light, though they run at the owners' discretion and weather permitting. Barbecues are also possible, making evenings on the field a real draw here.
