Why campers love it here
About this site
Withern Mill Trout Farm Certificated Site is a five-pitch certificated site wrapped around a working trout fishery at Withern, near Alford on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. The site sits beside the River Great Eau, with Alford about four miles south, the market town of Louth roughly six miles west, and the Lincolnshire coast at Mablethorpe within a short drive to the east. Run under the Camping and Caravanning Club scheme, it takes just five units, so you can expect a quiet, small-scale stay rather than a busy holiday park. All pitches are hardstanding with electric hook-up and water, plus chemical and grey-water disposal on site, and dogs are welcome. Open all year, it suits anglers and touring caravanners after a peaceful base. The fishing is the main event: five lakes stocked with rainbow and blue trout from 2lb upwards, plus half a mile of the Great Eau holding grayling and wild brown trout. A two-bedroom holiday cottage on the farm sleeps up to five if you would rather not camp. Pitch numbers are limited at Withern Mill, so book directly with the farm to secure a space, especially through the trout season.
