About this site

Set on Woldgate, the old Roman road about a mile west of Bridlington, Woldgate Trekking and Livery Centre is first and foremost a horse-riding and livery yard that also runs a small caravan and camp site in East Yorkshire. The camping side is genuinely part of the operation: you can pitch a tent, caravan or motorhome across roughly 10 pitches, with electric hook-up, showers, toilets, a washing-up area, drinking water and chemical disposal. The setting is woodland and open countryside on the edge of the Yorkshire Wolds, and the beach and harbour at Bridlington are about 2 miles away. Coarse fishing ponds sit right opposite the site, and the obvious draw is the riding itself, with lessons and guided treks planned for both beginners and more experienced riders. Dogs are welcome as long as they are kept on a lead, and seasonal pitches can be arranged. This suits horse-mad families and anyone who wants a quiet, no-frills base near the coast rather than a big holiday park with entertainment. The site is open from early January to late December, so it stays available well outside the usual summer season. Phone ahead to check pitch availability and to book your stay at Woldgate.
