York Naburn Lock Caravan Park

Four miles south of York city centre, York Naburn Lock Caravan Park is an adults-only touring and camping park beside the River Ouse at Naburn, holding an AA five-pennant rating and membership of the Tranquil Touring Parks group. The setting is flat, green and riverside, with the lock itself next door, fishing available from the park, and York's ring road close enough to make touring the Dales, the North York Moors and the coast straightforward. Getting into York without the car is the park's trump card: a bus stops at the entrance, a Park and Ride is a few minutes' drive, a river bus runs from Naburn and a traffic-free cycle path follows an old railway line into the city. Pitches range from grass without electric to standard, fully serviced and superior serviced options, all serviced pitches carrying 16 amp metered hook-ups with a £3 nightly credit; families should note that under-18s cannot stay, because the park is exclusively for adults. There is a shop on site, two very large dog walks, and washrooms that reviewers repeatedly describe as spotless, alongside consistent praise for friendly staff and a genuinely peaceful atmosphere.
