Why campers love it here
About this site
Billycan Camping is a glamping site on Manor Farm at Tortington, just outside Arundel in West Sussex, set across 650 acres of working farmland running down to the River Arun. You sleep in ready-pitched bell tents, yurts or a cabin rather than your own tent, with a communal camp fire for toasting marshmallows after dark. Arundel's castle, cathedral, Wildfowl and Wetlands Centre and Swanbourne Lake are all a walk along the river from the farm, so you can leave the car behind once you have arrived. Billycan sleeps up to 58 people across its cabin, three yurts, six bell tents and two scout tents, and it is hired exclusively by weekends (minimum three nights) or midweek (minimum two nights), as well as by groups for weddings, anniversaries and reunions. That makes it a strong pick for a family gathering, hen do or school group rather than a couple after a quiet, spontaneous overnight stop, since exclusive hire and minimum stays shape most bookings. Camping runs seasonally from May to the end of August, so this is not a year-round option in West Sussex. There is no need to bring your own tent or cooking gear, with breakfast hampers and cook-ups available on top of the site fee. Prices are quoted through Billycan's own booking pages.
