Wild Boar Wood Campsite

Wild Boar Wood Campsite is an off-grid glamping site in five acres of private oak woodland near Haywards Heath in West Sussex, run by Pegs and Pitches. There is no camping here in the traditional sense: this is glamping only, with nine furnished bell tents among the trees rather than pitches for your own tent or van. Cars stay in a car park away from the woodland, so you carry gear in past bluebells and birdsong, and you can watch steam trains pass on the nearby Bluebell Railway. Each bell tent sleeps up to four on proper beds with a memory foam mattress, and comes with its own fire pit, grill, cooking kit and a nightly bag of firewood, though there is no electricity or phone charging anywhere on site. Families and small groups are genuinely well catered for at Wild Boar Wood, with tents grouped so parents can hear children from the campfire, and full-site bookings available for larger gatherings. This suits campers after a proper unplugged woodland break rather than families wanting mod cons, and dogs are not permitted under local authority conditions. The West Sussex site is open from April to October, with bell tents from £92.50 a night.
