Brigs Farm Camping

Brigs Farm Camping is an informal, back-to-basics tent site on a 12-acre smallholding in the hills of far West Dorset, about 2 miles from the Jurassic Coast. Brigs Farm sits above Wootton Fitzpaine in a landscape of winding hedged lanes and footpaths, with Charmouth and its fossil beach roughly 2 miles away and Lyme Regis close by. Pitches take tents and small campervans (think VW T-series or Transit vans), and there is room to spread out, though the ground can be a little uneven. Caravans and larger motorhomes are not accepted, so this suits campers happy with compost and long-drop loos, gas and electric power showers, and spring water rather than a polished touring park. Well behaved dogs are welcome, campfires are allowed (you can buy wood on site), and the sea views over Charmouth are the standout. Friday is pizza night, cooked in the owner's wood-fired oven, and home-grown vegetables and local cider are usually on offer. Recycling caddies at each pitch keep the footprint low. The site suits couples, dog owners and families after a quiet, wild-ish weekend, and less so anyone needing hook-ups or hard standing. Prices start from £12.50 a night per adult, with children aged 5 to 14 at £6 and under-5s free, booked through the site's online system.
