Short Lake Farm

Short Lake Farm is a seasonal, tents-only campsite on an organic farm above Weymouth Bay, set on the southern edge of Osmington village on Dorset's Jurassic Coast. The land runs down towards the cliffs, with wide sea views across the bay to Weymouth and the Isle of Portland, and a beach reached in about 10 minutes on foot down steps just west of the farm. The South West Coast Path crosses the site, giving walks east towards Lulworth and Durdle Door or west into Weymouth. Pitches are grass and non-electric, taking tents and trailer tents only, so campervans, caravans and motorhomes are not accepted. This suits campers who want a simple, view-led pitch by the sea rather than hook-ups and hard standing. Campfires and barbecues are allowed, and pets are welcome as long as they are kept under control. The farm is worked alongside neighbouring Eweleaze Farm, raising Aberdeen Angus cattle and Soay-cross sheep, and the wider organic setting is a large part of the appeal. Short Lake Farm opens for tent camping in August only, and quiet is expected after 11pm, with amplified music limited to Saturday evenings. Bookings are made through the site's online system with a 10 percent deposit, and no bookings are taken by phone or email.
