About this site

Broadlands Touring Caravan Site is a six pitch touring caravan site on a working farm at Doghouse Farm, Chideock, on the edge of the village and within sight of Golden Cap on the Dorset coast. The site sits half way down the farm lane off the A35, west of Bridport, with a footpath running from the field across to Seatown beach in roughly 15 minutes on foot. Chideock village centre, with its shop and pub, is a short walk away, and the bus stop at the top of the lane has twice hourly services to Bridport and Lyme Regis. There are six caravan pitches, three of them hard standings when needed, laid out on relatively flat mown grass, and every pitch has a 10 amp electric hook up, easy access to water and use of the Elsan point. The scale is the point: this is a small, quiet, farm based spot for caravans and motorhomes rather than a park with entertainment or an on site shop. Well behaved dogs are welcome and Broadlands is open all year, which is unusual among small touring sites on this stretch of the Dorset coast. Pitches start from £23.00 a night including awning and electric hook up, booked by phone with the owner.

Good to know

Is Broadlands Touring Caravan Site dog friendly?
Yes, well behaved dogs are welcome at Broadlands Touring Caravan Site. The site sits on a working farm at Doghouse Farm in Chideock, so keep dogs under control around the farm and its livestock. A footpath leads from the field across to Seatown beach, which makes for an easy daily walk straight from your pitch.
Is Broadlands open all year?
Yes, Broadlands is open all year round, which is rare among small touring sites on this part of the Dorset coast. There are only six pitches, and booking is taken by phone with the owner rather than through an online system, so ring ahead to check availability before you travel.
Do the pitches have electric hook up?
Yes, all of the pitches at Broadlands have a 10 amp electric hook up. Each pitch also has easy access to water, and there is an Elsan emptying facility on site. Three of the six pitches can be used as hard standings when the ground calls for it.
How much does it cost to stay at Broadlands Touring Caravan Site?
Charges start from £23.00 a night, and that rate includes your awning and the electric hook up. There is no online booking engine to compare rates in, because pitches are reserved by phone, so confirm the current price with the owner when you call to book.
How far is the beach from Broadlands?
Seatown beach is roughly a 15 minute walk from the site along a footpath that crosses the fields, so you can leave the car on the pitch. It sits on the Jurassic Coast below Golden Cap, and the site itself looks out towards the headland and the surrounding countryside.
Can I reach the site by bus?
Yes, there is a bus stop at the top of the farm lane with twice hourly services running to Bridport and Lyme Regis. Chideock village centre, with a shop and a pub, is also just a short walk from the site, so a car is not essential for a stay.
