Calder Farm

Calder Farm is a small, family run campsite on Settle Road at Bolton by Bowland, roughly six miles north of Clitheroe, and the headline here is the view: every pitch looks out at Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. The site covers just over an acre in the Forest of Bowland, with Gisburn Forest and its award winning mountain bike trails a short drive away and Skipton Castle within reach for a wet day. There are 12 hardstanding pitches plus additional grass areas, with electric hook up available as an extra, a heated toilet block built in 2018 that includes a disabled and family shower room, a washing up area with hot water, a freezer and a chemical disposal point. Two fully furnished ensuite camping pods, Acorns and Oak, cover you if canvas is not your thing. Dogs are welcome on a lead and a field is kept free of stock as an exercise area, but dogs are not allowed in the pods, open campfires are banned and commercial vehicles cannot come on to the campsite. The unusual bit is the equine side: Calder Farm has stables, grazing and an arena, so you can bring your horse, with the Pennine Bridleway about a 30 minute ride away.
