About this site

Pitches: 13 hardstanding, 6 grass Opening Dates: Open All Year Calder Farm is a small family run site located in the beautiful village of Bolton by Bowland in the heart of the Ribble Valley. Set in over an acre of land all pitches have fantastic views of Pendle Hill and the Ribble Valley. With 13 hard standing pitches, additional grass areas and a fully furnished, ensuite camping pod we cater for all campers. Unfortunately we do not allow commercial vehicles. Dogs are welcome on the site but must be kept on a lead. We always try and keep a field free of stock to use as an exercise area. Horse riding holidays can be arranged offered with our stables, grazing and arena adjacent to the site. There are numerous local bridleways and access onto the Pennine bridleway is a 30 minute ride. Riders have the option of bringing their own sleeping accomodation or booking the luxury of the camping pod. Unfortunately we cannot offer riding lessons or hacking on our horses. Summer 2018 saw the arrival of our first camping pod. Relax outside on the patio on a sunny day or warm up after a winters walk in the heated pod. There is a fully equipped kitchen with a microwave, hob, kettle, toaster, fridge and all the crockery and utensils you should need. We provide bedding for the fitted double bed unless you prefer to bring your own and there is also a large double sofa bed that comfortably sleeps another 2 people (or 3 smaller children!) The bathroom contains a toilet, sink and large shower. Outside is a patio area where you can enjoy the beautiful views of the Ribble Valley. There is the option of hiring a firepit and we have disposable BBQs and wood available to purchase. Unfortunatley we cannot allow dogs in the camping pod. There are numerous walks from the site and the village of Bolton by Bowland is within walking distance. Here you will find a country pub, church, village shop and cafe. Within a 15 minute walk are 2 garden nurseries and a tea room.
