Wild Heart Hill Camp

Charmill Cottage, now trading as Wild Heart Hill, is a small camping field on the edge of Findon, West Sussex, set into wooded hillside just behind Findon Cricket Club. You are a fifteen to twenty minute walk from Findon village, where three pubs, a cafe, a butcher and a shop cover the basics, with Findon itself sitting under the South Downs a short drive from Worthing. Tents and vans pitch on a mix of hardstanding and open field, with electric hook-up, a shower shack with flushing loos, chemical waste disposal and water on site, and a fire pit provided with every booking, so evenings around the flames are part of the deal rather than an extra. Dogs are genuinely welcome at Wild Heart Hill, with off-lead walks around the hillside, which suits campers travelling with pets more than families wanting a fenced play area, since there is no playground or shop. It does not suit anyone wanting to drive around after dark: cars stay at the entrance and there is no vehicle movement on the hillside once the sun goes down.
