About this site

Charoland Farm Adult Only Quiet Site is a ten pitch adults only caravan and motorhome site on a small working farm in the hamlet of Greenhalgh, near Kirkham, where quiet is the entire proposition rather than a nice extra. The site is ringed by meadows and farmland in rural Lancashire, good ground for walks and cycle routes, with Poulton-le-Fylde six miles away, Blackpool nine, Preston eleven and Lytham St Annes twelve. All ten pitches are hardstanding, either attractive block paving or low laid webbing under grass, and each has a metered 16amp hook up where you pay only for the electricity you actually use. There is a toilet and shower block with separate men's and ladies' facilities, a sheltered service area with fresh and waste water points, a toilet disposal area and recycling, and a screened barbecue and picnic area with a small raised pond at the centre of the site. Nobody under 18 may enter the park, tents are not taken and day visitors are not permitted, so families, tent campers and anyone planning to have friends round should cross Charoland Farm off the list now. What guests come back for is the upkeep and the owners, and there is a small supermarket, a Greggs and a Subway within a 15 minute walk. The site is open from 1 March to 31 October, and pitches are from £27 a night for two adults on a minimum two night stay.

Good to know

Is Charoland Farm really adults only?
Yes, and strictly so. The owners state that persons under 18 years of age are not permitted to enter the park at all, so this is not a site where children can visit for the day. The site also does not permit day visitors of any age, which is how it keeps things quiet.
What are the opening dates?
Charoland Farm is open from 1 March to 31 October, so it does not run through the winter. A minimum two night booking applies, rising to three nights over bank holiday weekends, which must be paid in full at the time of booking. A £40 non refundable deposit secures any booking.
How much is a pitch at Charoland Farm?
Pitches are from £27 a night for two adults on one block paved pitch, including space for one vehicle and a grassed awning area, with a minimum two night stay. One additional adult is £10 a night, awnings are £2, and the 16amp hook up is metered so you pay for what you use.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, up to two dogs at 50p per dog per night, arranged before you book. This is a working farm, so dogs must be kept on a lead at all times on site and exercised off site. They are not allowed in the shower and toilet block, and cannot be left alone in your caravan or car.
Does Charoland Farm take tents?
No, despite the site being described as a caravan and camping site, the ten pitches are for caravans and motorhomes only. All are hardstanding, laid either with block paving or with low laid webbing under grass, and each has a metered 16amp electric hook up and space for one vehicle.
What is nearby?
The site is surrounded by meadows and farmland with walking and cycling from the gate, and there is a small supermarket, a Greggs and a Subway within a 15 minute walk. Poulton-le-Fylde is six miles away, Blackpool nine, Preston eleven, Lytham St Annes twelve and the Forest of Bowland thirty two.
