About this site

Dearne Head Farm is an adults-only Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location on high farmland above Ingbirchworth, near Denby Dale and Huddersfield in West Yorkshire. This is a small five-van site for caravans and motorhomes, and its adults-only rule is the first thing to know: no children stay here, which keeps it calm and quiet. The setting is open Pennine countryside on the West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire border, close to Ingbirchworth Reservoir and its walking trails, with the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park a short drive west. Electric hook-up is available and dogs are welcome, so it works well for couples touring with a dog. Facilities are simple, in keeping with a Certificated Location: there is a toilet on site but no shower block, and there is no shop, pool or clubhouse, so bring your own kit and expect a well-kept pitch rather than a resort. Membership of the Caravan and Motorhome Club is required to book, though you can join in advance. Penistone, Holmfirth and the market town of Denby Dale are all within easy reach for supplies and pubs. The site is open all year, and pitches are booked directly with the site or through the Caravan and Motorhome Club.

Good to know

Is Dearne Head Farm adults only?
Yes, Dearne Head Farm is an adults-only site, so no children can stay. This keeps the small five-van Certificated Location quiet and relaxed, which suits couples and older tourers. If you are travelling as a family with children, you will need a different site in the Denby Dale or Huddersfield area.
Do I need to be a Caravan and Motorhome Club member?
Yes, as a Certificated Location, Dearne Head Farm is open to Caravan and Motorhome Club members, and you can join the Club in advance to book. It takes up to five caravans or motorhomes, so it stays intimate. Pitches are arranged directly with the site or through the Club.
Are dogs allowed?
Yes, dogs are welcome at Dearne Head Farm, which makes it a good base for couples touring with a dog. The surrounding farmland and the paths around nearby Ingbirchworth Reservoir give easy walking straight from the site, with the eastern edge of the Peak District a short drive to the west.
Is there electric hook-up and are there showers?
Yes, electric hook-up is available at Dearne Head Farm. Facilities are otherwise simple, in keeping with a Certificated Location: there is a toilet on site but no shower block, so a self-contained caravan or motorhome is the practical choice here rather than a tent needing full washing amenities.
Is the site open all year?
Yes, Dearne Head Farm is open all year, so it works for winter as well as summer touring. It sits high on exposed Pennine farmland near Ingbirchworth, so expect cold and changeable weather in the colder months and come prepared. Denby Dale, Penistone and Holmfirth are close by for supplies.
